SPECIFIC OPERATIONS ARE PERFORMED EASILY AT PARKHAYAT
Chief Physician Süleyman Şahin gave information about laparoscopic (closed) choledochotomy, stone removal from the common bile duct with a choledoscope and t-tube drainage surgery performed in Afyon PARKHAYAT Hospital General Surgery Clinic. Gallbladder stones can pass from the gallbladder to the main bile duct, also known as the common bile duct. In addition, in patients who have had gallbladder surgery, residual or new stones may develop in the common bile duct. These stones passing into the common bile duct or newly formed cause obstruction and life-threatening conditions in the area called the ampulla. Common bile duct stones cause clinical conditions such as biliary colic, cholangitis, obstructive jaundice and pancreatitis in our patients. The primary treatment option in such patients is Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, also known as ERCP. At PARKHAYAT Hospital general surgery clinic, ERCP procedure has been routinely performed for years by the experienced anesthesia and general surgery team. However, ERCP cannot be performed on patients who have previously had abdominal surgery, especially stomach surgery. Such patients are subjected to open surgery, which is much more difficult. Providing information on the subject, Prof. Dr. Yuksel Arikan; Our patient Halil Şekerci is 75 years old. 30 years ago, due to a stomach ulcer, most of the stomach was removed, called subtotal gastrectomy. Our patient applied to us with obstructive jaundice and cholangitis. After detailed triggers and treatments, it was revealed that the disease was caused by a stone that settled in the last part of the bile duct and did not allow the flow of bile. Our patient had additional respiratory and heart problems. In order to ensure the fastest recovery after surgery in our patient who could not undergo ERCP due to gastric surgery, OP. DR. SÜLEYMAN ŞAHİN, PROF. DR. YUKSEL ARIKAN AND ASSOCIATE PROF.DR. As a result of the surgical council formed by MUSTAFA ÖZSOY, it was decided to perform laparoscopic common bile duct exploration. After the surgery, our patient was discharged with full recovery on the 4th day. Thus, our patient recovered from open abdominal surgery and quickly regained his normal life. In PARKHAYAT Hospital General Surgery Clinic, laparoscopic biliary tract surgery is routinely performed, thanks to the high-level surgical equipment that is only available in a few centers in our country.
